How You are Supported Through Your Grief

Hello, I am Yasemin Isler, founder of Center for Grief and Loss, and the framework of Mindfulness, Compassion and Community for Grief (MCCG).

I created this online and virtual grief support center and framework of mindfulness, compassion and community for grief and loss (MCCG) in 2014. Prior to more of us getting accustomed to, sometimes reluctantly, to online and virtual spaces. Prior to grief, death and loss becoming consistent household names during the pandemic. Prior to the power of community and mindfulness becoming more and more recognized. Prior to trauma sensitive grief care becoming known.

I refined the framework in 2018 for my Master’s thesis in Mindfulness Studies, which solely focused on supporting grief, bringing kind awareness to nature of life in impermanence, including the reality of illness, aging and death.

I personally experienced the inequity of attending retreats in retreat centers, due to economic, health or other adversities.

The reality is not everyone can afford to travel to a retreat center, stay away from their loved ones or even leave their homes due to their own health conditions. The reality is also that many retreat centers spend a lot of valuable time and resources to stay afloat and keep the place running.

I have led many retreats, group and individual sessions, support groups and grief circles online and received feedback from participants that this is very doable. In fact, it is often very much appreciated to practice in the midst of life, and have access to all of this from wherever they are able to participate.

My intention all along has been to create a healing space and opportunities, wherever you are, exactly how your life is at this time. I am a widow, emigrant, raising a multi racial family, live with a manageable chronic illness while caregiving for a love one. I am engaged in communities where many are living with adversities yet are not able to show up in public places or discussions; they are often not heard or seen.

My intention, goal and belief are that we can find a healing path for you, no matter the nature of your grief and loss.

My approach is rooted in presence, mindfulness and compassion, staying curious, making connections across disciplines of knowledge, meeting you where you are, to offer you a personalized toolbox if you will, to not only navigate and manage life’s adversities, but find the path to resilience, growth and transformation.

I supported thousands of individuals as they navigated their grief and loss, or the daily stressors of life. I am confident that we can do the same for you.

With love and kindness,

Yasemin
